I am taking this class online because of the convenience of being able to access the class from any computer at any time. I spend most of my day on the computer regardless of whether I'm taking an online class or not, so I find this fun, interesting and convenient.
I graduated from Bear River High School in '08. Throughout the four years I took the advanced English classes, so I hope that it will help me in this class. I'm planning on transferring to an Art School once I get my AA degree.
Although I love English, I am also greatly intrested in Art. When I was a Junior in High School I attended a summer school program called CSSSA/Innerspark and was amazed by the passion and beauty that art inspired.
I enjoy both drawing and writing. I write a lot of adventure/fantasy stories just for my own personal amusement.
I love fantasy. There are many authors and books that inspire me. One of my favorite authors is Garth Nix, who wrote the Old Kingdom Series (also known as the Abhorsen Trilogy). I have been most recently into The Mortality Instruments, a trilogy of books by Cassandra Clare. The characters and story are rich and the story is well-written.
One book I never tire of is The Catcher in the Rye, by J. D. Salinger. It's a classic that I could never forget. The characters and the reality that the reader must face alongside the protagonist, Holden Caulfield, leave a deep and emotional mark within the mind.
